midnight in paris

Watching new Woody Allen films in recent years has invariably proved disappointing.

Over high expectations? Undoubtedly.

So I watched ‘Midnight In Paris’ the other night in the knowledge that critics and the box office had given it a resounding round of applause.

I too enjoyed it, not only for the comedy and the sumptuous views of Paris, but for the music.

Sidney Bechet makes a sound on sopranox saxophone that is unique.

But it was the work of Stephane Wrembel on the soundtrack that really caught my attention.

Magnificent guitar playing and subtle arrangements as you’ll hear on these performance videos from his website.
