The annual Sundance Film Festival in Utah invariably premieres top-notch music documentaries.

And 2013 has been no exception.

Dave Grohl has used some of the time-off before recording the next Foo Fighters album to make his directorial debut with ‘Sound City.’

Readers of album credits will instantly know that it’s the studio in Los Angeles where pretty much all the rock ‘n pop greats of recent times made great music.

Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ was Grohl’s own introduction to the place that everyone from Tom Petty to Stevie Nicks to Neil Young has a soft spot for.

But when it closed in 2011, Grohl felt it was important to capture its story – hence the documentary.

So there are only a few days to wait until you can give your own verdict on ‘Sound City.’

You can download the 106-minutes from 1st February while the dvd is on sale from 12th March.
